"Intertek Testing Services NA Ltd. has conducted a series of Breaking Load tests on submitted sample concrete and slate/ABS composite paving stones. The submitted samples were placed into the Tinius Olsen universal apparatus and evaluated in accordance with ASTM C67-03a except that pavers were placed onto the supplied proprietary pedestals on each corner, and the load was applied to the center of the upper surface of the specimen through a 6 in.2 steel bearing plate 1/4" thick. It was noted that ...the composite slate pavers continued to accept greater loads after the intitial yield point without breaking. The test results are summarized:"
Mean Load at First Yield (lbf): 1334
Mean Maximum Load (lbf): 1661
